About the event

Join Cuballing author John Robertson as he takes you on a revealing  historic journey of colonialism on the southern coasts from 1798 to 1852. A time when every player was in it for themselves, from top bureaucrats to lowly escaped convicts, and everyone in between. A time when displaced peple were forcibly tranpsorted half a world away to displace others.

John's facinating book chronicles many of the sordid activities of expired convicts who, as intrepid sealers, cut a frugal existence on the wild frontiers of southern Australasia, surviving with the help of Aboriginal women they had either abducted or bartered for.

A thought provoking tale about the beginnings of a young colony on the other side of the world.
