About the event
Explore and discover the unique landscape and wildlife of Dryandra on your very own guided bus tour. Dryandra Woodland is a valuable nature conservation area featuring the largest remnant of original vegetation in the western Wheatbelt. More than 25 mammals, 100 birds and 50 reptiles call Dryandra home, including Western Australia’s state mammal emblem, the numbat (Myrmecobius fasciatus). Bring along your camera - you never know what flora and fauna you may see!
When: Saturday Sept 14th 2024, 10.30am Departure, 2.30pm return
Where: Dryandra Woodland
Meeting Point: Cuballing Township
Cost: Â $5 per personÂ
Bookings: RSVPS essential.
What to Bring / Good to Know
- Please bring your own water and refreshments as required.
- Wear comfortable and sensible footwear.
- Pack sunscreen, hat and sunglasses for stop offs outside the bus.
- Bring a camera along if you like!
- Toilets available at Dryandra Village, Congelin Campground and Gnaala Mia Campground.
- A basic first aid kit will be on board the bus - please bring any medication you require.
- Mobile phone reception is  limited - Download the free Emergency+ app before your tour. Use the app in an emergency to call for assistance. If there is no mobile phone coverage you WILL NOT be able to call 000 but the app will provide you with your GPS location.  Visit emergencyplus.com.auÂ
Itinerary
- 10.30am Depart from Cuballing.
- Head west and enter Dryandra off the Narrogin Wandering Rd.
- Drive through the Lions Dryandra Village
- Drive along Tomingley Rd until Mangart Rd
- Travel along Mangart Rd and out past the Congelin Dam, then in to the Congelin Campground.
- Head out onto York Williams Rd and drive through Gnaala Mia Campground.
- Return to York Williams Rd via Godfrey Rd, then head north to Koomal Rd.
- Drive along Koomal Rd, then Marri Rd, then head out on Tomingley Rd, going through the one-way road to see the Kwongan Heathland on the way out.
- Return to Cuballing between 1.30 and 2.30pm.
