It’s an attitude that’s been winning the Southern River Band fans across the globe, from those who flocked to the group’s recent run of UK and European dates to The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins, who proclaimed the four-piece “a proper f**king rock band” after hearing their 2023 single, “Stan Qualen”.
Then there was the time Powderfinger vocalist Bernard Fanning slipped into their DMs to tell them he loved what they were doing, and that if they ever needed a place to record he had a studio in Byron Bay with Grammy-winning producer Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen).
The Southern River Band took him up on the offer, spending 10 days in March recording Easier Said Than Done with DiDia at the helm. The 12-track album includes a song written by Bernard Fanning for the band, ‘No Such Time’. Easier Said Than Done and was released Oct 17 (the same week the band was announced as support for AC/DC) reaching number 3 on the ARIA Australia charts.
Beneath the lyrical humour, Kramer’s Herculean mullet, and the sweat-fuelled good-time antics of the band’s unreal live show is a group of four individuals – Cal Kramer is joined in SRB by bassist Pat Smith, guitarist Dan Carroll and drummer Tyler Michie– who take what they do very seriously.
You’ve just gotta see for yourself.

Fool Nelson are a three-piece indie rock trio comprised of two brothers and their best mate. Hailing from Boorloo/Perth WA, they have quickly made a name for themselves, packing out venues with their energetic live show and a knack for writing catchy tunes. The band’s current, beautifully crafted six-track EP is about sticking close to the people they love, learning to grow in relationships despite anxiety, ambition and uncertainty, plus to serve as a reminder of what is important.
Leading on from plays on Sian Eleri’s Future Artist’s on BBC Radio 1 and Craig Charles’ BBC 6 Music show, the West Coast trio are primed for their first UK/EU shows in May, including stops at tastemaker fests The Great Escape, Dot To Dot, Liverpool Sound City, The Road to The Great Escape and London Calling in Amsterdam.
Off the back of their debut-national-sold-out-tour, Rolling Stone described the band as "One of the most exciting bands to come out of Australia's indie-rock scene in years." and that form flowed through their ‘Bad Dreams’ EP tour with sold out banners across Eora/Sydney, Narrm/Melbourne, Tarntanya/Adelaide and a hometown 1,000 capacity show at Port Beach Brewery, plus 2 x sold out U18 shows in 48 hours.
EP title-track 'Bad Dreams' hit #154 on triple j’s Hottest 200 was top 5 most played song on triple j. Previous release 'Don't Feel Right' climbed Shazam Charts across the country and was #1 most played song on triple j for multiple weeks and they were cover stars of 'Rock Out.' on Spotify and are favourites to countless Apple Music and Spotify playlists across the globe.
Appropriately noted as 'Ones To Watch' by triple j and selected as the Unearthed Competition Winner for Busselton's One Night Stand (the only ever act to win an Unearthed Competition, twice) they look back at impressive festival sets at Rolling Sets, The Great Escape, HYPER FEST, NYE On The Hill, Out & About Festival, Groovin the Moo Festival, Tone City Records Festival. They have also impressed on support-act duties for luminaries Spacey Jane, Skegss, Old Mervs, Ball Park Music and The Rions.
Fool Nelson
Three-piece Indie rock band originating from Perth, WA, packing out venues with their emotive and nostalgic sound
_edited.jpg)
Having played music together since they were kids, the boys have polished their own unique brand of grungey and emotive music that focuses on big choruses and heavy-hitting instrumentation. Taking influence from the 90’s and early 2000’s rock that they grew up listening to, there is an air of nostalgia to Fool Nelson’s music that is familiar but fresh.
19 Twenty hit the stage like a runaway freight train — loud, fast, and impossible to ignore. Fusing blistering blues with roots grit, rock ’n’ roll swagger, and foot-stomping rhythms, the band delivers a live show that’s equal parts raw power and pure fun. This is music that grabs you by the collar and dares you to stand still.
Renowned for their explosive performances, 19-Twenty turn every room into a sweat-soaked, high-energy celebration. Whether it’s a packed festival field or a heaving club floor, their shows are driven by thunderous grooves, scorching guitar work, and a relentless rhythm section that keeps audiences moving from the first note to the last.
A relentless touring force, 19 Twenty have carved out a reputation as one of Australia’s most electrifying live acts. They’ve ignited stages at Byron Bay Bluesfest, Woodford Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Blues on Broadbeach, and more than 70 festivals nationwide, sharing bills with iconic artists and winning fans wherever they play.
Across their releases, the band captures the same untamed spirit that defines their live shows — gritty, dynamic, and unapologetically energetic.
Their songs channel life on the road, love, loss, and late-night stories into hooks that hit hard and linger long after the final chord.
At the heart of it all, 19-Twenty are built for the stage. Fueled by chemistry, charisma, and a love of performance, they don’t just play shows — they create experiences. If you’re chasing a night of sweat, smiles, and seriously high-voltage blues and roots, 19-Twenty deliver every time.

Equal parts hopeless and romantic, Hazelmead emerged from her room in 2020 with poetry in her mouth and her mother’s guitar singing about the films behind her eyes.
Part of the DIY scene since the beginning, she released her self-produced debut
album, ‘Somewhere in North America’ in November 2025, immersing us in a world of
girlhood, coming of age and poignant introspection under the lace of nostalgic
Americana.
Originally inspired by her experiences travelling and residing throughout the
United States and Canada during 2023 (garnering the project’s title), Hazelmead
explores her deep fascination with the American mythos and its stark contrast with the current landscape.
